Community Housing Data Supply Project
This survey has been set up by CHA to document the scale, activities and growth of the community housing sector.
The survey framework was developed by CHA, Ministry of Social Development (MSD) and CRESA and will be updated quarterly on this website so we can see the change in the number of homes provided by the sector. MSD will incorporate the results to inform its purchasing intentions for social housing places. This survey will also seek to understand where future affordable housing supply is needed. Involvement in this survey is voluntary, but we hope all community housing organisations will participate so that the data is robust and housing need is accurately recorded.

VisionWest - another example of community housing in your community
VisionWest’s houses in Forest Hill, Auckland were a collaboration between Strachan Group Architects (SGA), Unitec School of Architecture and VisionWest. Tenants were involved in the brief to the architectural students. The students designed and built the houses and SGA oversaw the process.
Innovative use of materials resulted in the houses achieving three industry codes for insulation and resulted in lowering the cost of living for the tenants. The houses won two NZ Architecture Awards for housing and sustainability. VisionWest is a member.
